A critical analysis of how the representation of women in video games contributes to cultural narratives that uphold the male hero while perpetuating stereotypes of women as secondary, hypersexualized, or dependent. Drawing from feminist theory, narratology, and cultural studies, the paper examines tropes such as the damsel in distress and the paradox of figures like Lara Croft—both empowering and objectified.
